KOMPAN：位于澳大利亚的纽波特河畔(Newport Waterside)近期迎来了一座美不胜收的通用性游乐场。KOMPAN与澳大利亚Urban Play、著名景观公司CUSP以及Touched By Olivia等共同设计建造了这个适合所有孩子们嬉戏的游乐场。全年龄段的游戏活动吸引全家人一起来到户外，沐浴阳光，尽情玩耍！

KOMPAN：Newport Waterside is now home to a state-of-the-art inclusive playground at Spinnaker Park. KOMPAN worked in collaboration with Urban Play, CUSP Landscape Architecture, Eureka Landscapes and Touched by Olivia to deliver a playground where all children can play together. Filled with activities for all ages, the playground encourages the whole family to get outside, soak up the sunshine and play!

在Touched By Olivia（当地儿童公益机构）的建议下，Stockland希望将新建游乐场空间塑造成一个通用性的环境。

游乐场附近首屈一指的高端住宅区停放着别致的私人船只，运河通往莫顿湾，这些元素让纽波特游乐场选择以航海为主题，并且将帆船作为它的设计灵感。

Stockland Developments was guided by Touched By Olivia to establish playground design guidelines that would shape the play space to be an inclusive environment.

Newport Estate Playground has a nautical theme that draws inspiration from sail boats. The premier residential estate does include private boat moorings and canals that lead to Moreton Bay.

Stockland’s target market is for established families and mature couples. They envisage the grandparents take their grandchildren for a walk in the mornings and evenings. Stroll through the openspace, then up to the elevated playground deck that overlooks the water body. Its from this point that the adults and carers can appreciate the natural surrounds whilst the children travel down the tube slides, scale down the netting, or smoothly transition into the main custom sail tower.

A colossal 11-metre Sail Tower which is inspired by a ship pierces the sky and is filled with multi-level climbing activities and two fast slides. The custom sail tower was especially designed for Newport Estate’s older children. KOMPAN and KOMPAN Design Studio (KDS) excelled at creating an original tower than enables wheelchairs and walking apparatuses to travel directly into the tower. From there, all children have the options to transition to the slides, navigate the stairs or climb up to higher levels. Playground designer, Ben Urban said “the nautical theme inspires children to set sail across a sea of imagination and experience free play on the ground plain with inclusive and sensory play opportunities for the children to explore and experience with the wide variety of materials used to construct the playground. The surface and play equipment naturally integrate into the surrounding hard and soft landscapes and the custom-designed 11-m high Sail Tower offers incredible views over Newport Lake and the entire park.”
The tower has 3+ levels, all with different activities, including play shells for socialising or passive play, ropes for agility and balance, binoculars to evokes sensory responses and imagination play.

For little adventurers, there is a Toddler Sail Tower fitted with climbing activities and a slide, a Robinia Play Ship where they can be captains of their play adventure and sand and water activities that engage them in play for hours. “We wanted to design a playground that celebrates the beach lifestyle that Australian families know and love. An intergenerational design approach was taken to design a play environment which caters to all ages with equipment offering a wide variety of play activities that develop & challenge children’s physical, social and cognitive development to grow healthy, happy and confident children” said Mr. Urban.

The playground also includes a coconut rope swing, climbing nets, bounding membranes stepping pods and more. The architectural forms and materiality anchors this space as a unique play destination that stands apart, projects quality and incorporates the surrounding landscape.

The playground is designed to feature a diverse selection of activities that are stimulating on the ground, mid and upper levels. This composition offers all ages and abilities multiple activities to participate in. KOMPAN design for inclusive play at every opportunity, this has resulted in smart layered playground products that offers play for all abilities, whether physically, mentally or emotionally.

In response to the climatic conditions and anticipated high demand, Newport Estate has extensive build shade structures with strong equitable path access. Rubber softfall weaves throughout the playground connecting all to every play item. Sand softfall is offered as a tactile experience. The parklands surrounds are supported by vehicle parking and maintenance access, toilets, rubbish bins, picnic shelters and lighting.
